BBNaija’s Alex: I was Labeled a Thief, Bullied by Peers

Former Big Brother Naija contestant, Alex Unusual, recently opened up about a challenging past that profoundly shaped her. During a revealing chat on the Unpack podcast, Alex recounted her experiences of being bullied, mistreated by family, and unfairly labeled as a thief during her time in secondary school.

Reflecting on these painful memories, Alex shared how she was often misunderstood and wrongfully accused. One incident involved being punished for giving clean water to pigs instead of dirty water. This led to harsh accusations that left a lasting impact on her.

In school, she faced constant blame for thefts she didn’t commit. Punishments and mistreatment left her isolated, making her an easy target for unjust accusations. At one point, fellow students even questioned her sanity, suggesting she needed prayers for an illness they believed caused people to steal unknowingly.

These experiences, though painful, have contributed to Alex’s resilience and strength, shaping her into the person she is today. Her story serves as a powerful reminder of the lasting effects of bullying and the importance of empathy and understanding.
