Bobrisky Explains Why He Didn’t Grow Beards in Prison

In a recent interview, Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, shed light on why he didn’t grow beards during his three-month stint in prison. Bobrisky, who has made headlines for his flamboyant lifestyle and controversial statements, was sentenced to six months in prison in April 2024 by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos. This came after he pleaded guilty to naira misuse.

Bobrisky’s time behind bars ended on August 5th, 2024, and his release stirred curiosity among fans and the public alike. During an appearance on the show “Curiosity Made Me Ask” hosted by comedian Isbae U, Bobrisky was questioned about his facial hair—or the lack thereof. Isbae U humorously mentioned that many expected Bobrisky to emerge from prison with a Gandalf-like beard, given his four-month absence from the public eye.

Responding with his signature flair, Bobrisky revealed that he had undergone laser hair removal surgery. “I’ve done laser,” he said, emphasizing that the procedure has permanently prevented hair from growing on his face. “Till I leave this earth, hair cannot grow on my face.”

Bobrisky’s candid explanation has since sparked conversations across social media, with many expressing surprise and intrigue over his beauty choices even while in incarceration. The crossdresser’s ability to maintain his distinct appearance despite his prison experience highlights his commitment to his image, which continues to captivate and divide public opinion.

This interview has only added to Bobrisky’s complex persona, showing that even in challenging circumstances, he remains true to the identity that has made him a household name.
