Burna Boy and Adekunle Gold React to Protests
Burna Boy and Adekunle Gold have shared their reactions to the ongoing ‘End Bad Governance‘ protests in Nigeria.
Multiple award-winning singers Burna Boy and Adekunle Gold expressed their thoughts on the protests that began on Thursday, August 1, 2024, against bad governance in Nigeria.
The two artists voiced different views on the protest in their posts on X, formerly known as Twitter. Amid calls for celebrities to speak out on the ‘end bad governance’ protests, Grammy-winning Burna Boy reacted to fans urging him to lend his voice. He responded that his fighting spirit waned after fans rejected his music during the 2020 End Sars protest in Nigeria. Burna Boy posted, “The fight in me died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around.”
Conversely, singer Adekunle Gold voiced his support for the ongoing protests against bad governance in various parts of Nigeria. He took to social media, sharing the Endbadgovernance hashtag to advocate for the cause.
