Burna Boy Didn’t Cover All UPTH Medical Bills

The recent buzz claiming Burna Boy covered all medical bills at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) has been debunked.

While Burna Boy did engage in charitable acts, including settling some medical bills and making generous gestures, he did not cover all patients’ expenses. This clarification came from UPTH spokesperson Elabha Meni, who issued a statement in Port Harcourt on Friday.

Despite the need for clarification, the hospital praised Burna Boy for his generosity. “We commend Burna Boy’s kindness in financially assisting select patients in our hospital to offset their bills during his visit on June 11,” Meni stated.

However, Many emphasized that reports of all patients’ bills being paid were inaccurate. Only selected patients received cash gifts or donations.

Additionally, the hospital noted that it did not receive direct payments from Burna Boy or his team on behalf of patients. The support was aimed at reducing healthcare costs for a few.
