Celine Dion Stuns at 2024 Paris Olympics Amid Stiff Person Syndrome Battle
Celine Dion, the famous Canadian singer, performed at the 2024 Olympic opening ceremony in Paris on Friday. This marked her first live performance in four years, following her battle with stiff person syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder.
Dion’s performance was a highlight of the ceremony, wrapping up the event at the Eiffel Tower with Edith Piaf’s 1950 classic ‘Hymne à l’amour’. According to Gistreel, the 56-year-old musician charged $2 million for her performance at the 2024 Olympics.
This appearance was Dion’s second at the Olympics, her first being a performance of ‘The Power of the Dream’ in Atlanta in 1996.
