Davido’s Sisters Tried to Kidnap Imade at 3 Months Old – Sophia Momodu
Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first baby mama, has dropped a bombshell, accusing the Afrobeats superstar’s sisters of a plot to kidnap their daughter Imade at 3 months old,
The ongoing legal tussle between Davido and Sophia Momodu has captured media attention, as the two battle fiercely over their daughter’s custody. On April 17, 2024, Davido, represented by top-tier lawyers Olaniyi Arije and Okey Barrah, filed a motion before the Lagos High Court. He demanded a court order to secure “unfettered and unrestricted access” to their nine-year-old daughter, Imade.
Davido voiced his frustrations, alleging that Sophia has caused him severe mental distress with her “utopian” and unrealistic demands. The singer asserted that Sophia once blocked him from seeing their daughter, Imade, for a staggering “two years.”
In a dramatic twist last month, Sophia fired back at Davido’s lawsuit. In a jaw-dropping legal document dated June 26, she denied ever restricting his access to their daughter. Instead, she accused Davido and his sisters of a sinister plot to “kidnap three-month-old Imade out of Nigeria.”
Sophia detailed a terrifying intervention by immigration services that thwarted the alleged kidnapping scheme just in time. “The applicant has shown he is not a fit father,” she asserted. “He, along with his father and sisters, tried multiple times to kidnap our daughter and take her outside Nigeria without my consent.”
She further narrated, “When our daughter was just three months old, his sister took her under the guise of a holiday. They planned to take her out of the country permanently. Thanks to Nigerian Immigration services, she was intercepted at the airport and apprehended for falsely presenting herself as our daughter’s mother. This ensured our daughter’s safe return to my custody.”
Sophia’s revelation has added a new layer of complexity to the already intense legal battle, raising questions about the lengths Davido and his family might go to secure custody of Imade. The case continues to unfold, leaving the public eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this high-stakes saga.
