Drake Tops Bieber: 16 Songs at 1B Streams on Spotify
Drake, the Canadian rap icon, has outstripped Justin Bieber as the artist with the most songs surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify. This milestone was achieved when Drake’s hit “Hold On We’re Going Home” crossed the billion-stream mark.
Drake had previously tied Bieber’s record of 15 songs with “No Guidance,” his collaboration with Chris Brown, reaching a billion streams. Rihanna also joined Drake and Bieber at the 15-song mark when “The Monster,” her collaboration with Eminem, hit 1 billion streams.
Now, Drake holds the record outright with 16 songs surpassing the billion-stream threshold. The rapper is poised to extend his lead further, with five songs currently over 960 million streams. “Look Alive” with BlocBoy JB is edging closer to the milestone, currently at 983,712,956 streams.
Besides breaking this record, Drake recently became the first artist to reach 100 billion streams across all credits on Spotify, cementing his status as the biggest rapper in the world. Following the release of his eighth solo album, “For All The Dogs,” in 2023, Drake tied Michael Jackson’s record of 13 No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits. His single “First Person Shooter” featuring J. Cole, topped the chart.
Drake also holds the record for the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 this century, breaking the tie he previously shared with Taylor Swift. His 2013 global hit single “One Dance” featuring Wizkid and Kyla, is among his biggest songs, boasting over 3 billion streams and ranking as one of the most streamed songs of all time on Spotify.
Drake’s dominance on Spotify continues to grow, and his achievements highlight his immense popularity and influence in the music industry.
