Koko Zaria Sentenced to Jail for Assaulting Nollywood Actor Lawori
Lagos socialite and NURTW leader, Ganiyu Oyedepo, popularly known as Koko Zaria, has been sentenced to jail for allegedly assaulting Nollywood actor Ade Adele, widely known as Lawori. The court ruling has sparked widespread attention due to Koko Zaria’s controversial reputation and high-profile connections.
The incident occurred on June 25 at a party in Idimu, Lagos, where Lawori was reportedly attacked by one of Koko Zaria’s associates. Court documents reveal that Lawori was struck with a bottle and stabbed with its shards during the altercation. The charges brought against Koko Zaria include assault causing injury, conspiracy to commit a felony, and breaching public peace.
Koko Zaria’s arrest became a trending topic online. However, just before the court decided to imprison him, he allegedly fled to the United States, Sources claim his decision to flee may be linked to his fallout with MC Oluomo, his former employer. Despite being sentenced, Koko Zaria was seen posting videos online, one of which showed him dancing with his daughter, seemingly unfazed by the court’s ruling.
The case has generated mixed reactions among netizens. While some believe Koko Zaria is being unfairly targeted, others argue that justice must be served. Many questioned why only Koko Zaria was named, while the person responsible for physically assaulting Lawori remains at large.
As Koko Zaria evades justice overseas, the situation remains a heated topic in Lagos, with some speculating whether he will eventually face the consequences for the assault. Fans of Nollywood actor Lawori continue to demand accountability, while discussions around Koko Zaria’s fate stir debate across social media.
