Mercy Chinwo Grants Full Scholarships to 100 Undergraduates

Mercy Chinwo and her husband Blessed Uzochikwa, a renowned gospel singer, have generously awarded full scholarships to 100 undergraduates at the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State.

The couple made this announcement on July 12, 2024, before an excited crowd of students during their university tour. The scholarships cover all tuition fees and provide books, stipends, and additional benefits to support academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students.

This act of kindness isn’t the first from the power couple this year. In April, Mercy Chinwo, Blessed Uzochikwa, and their record label, Grace and Truth Nation Music, awarded scholarships to 50 freshmen at the same institution. These scholarships, given through the “MercyBlessed Foundation” and in honor of their son Charis, reflect their ongoing commitment to education.

“Port Harcourt is home to me. The memories of a city where I dared to dream and hope for a purposeful life are still fresh. I thank the Lord for His work in me and through me so far. The scholarship is to inspire students that their dreams and ambitions are valid and not to give up because there is a God who has ‘Excess Love’,” Mercy Chinwo shared.
