Olamide Unveils ‘Ikigai’ EP Featuring Asake & Fireboy

In a surprising turn, Olamide unveiled his latest project ‘Ikigai’ on June 26, 2024, shortly after a surprise performance at Davido and Chioma’s wedding.

Titled after the Japanese concept of “reason for being,” the 7-track EP features YBNL stars Fireboy and Asake on ‘Uptown Disco’ (track 3). Olamide also collaborates with former YBNL colleagues Pheelz, Young Jonn, and Lil Kesh on ‘Synchro System’ (track 7).

Before the reveal, Olamide teased a snippet of ‘Hello Habibi’ on his Instagram story, now confirmed as track 5 of ‘Ikigai’.

This surprise EP follows Olamide’s 2023 announcement on X that ‘Unruly’ might be his last album. ‘Ikigai’ marks his 10th solo and 15th total project in his prolific career.

Known for hits like ‘Trumpet’ feat CKay and ‘New Religion’ with Asake from his previous albums, Olamide’s fans eagerly await the YBNL reunion’s impact on ‘Ikigai’.
