Napoli and Chelsea have reached a significant agreement for Romelu Lukaku’s transfer in the summer 2024 window. The deal, which has generated much buzz, confirms that Napoli will pay €45 million for the Belgian striker.
According to sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, the payment structure includes an upfront fee of €30 million, with an additional €15 million in performance-based add-ons. Napoli had initially offered lower bids, but after further negotiations, both clubs agreed on this compromise. The payment is expected to be made in installments.
Lukaku, currently training separately at Cobham, has been out of favor at Chelsea. He scored 15 goals in 44 appearances during the 2021-22 season but spent the last two seasons on loan at Inter Milan and Roma. Lukaku has no interest in returning to Chelsea, and the club is eager to finalize his transfer.
