Oriahi took to Instagram on Sunday, June 9, 2024, to announce a significant milestone: “The Weekend” becomes the first independently produced Nollywood film to premiere at New York’s prestigious Tribeca Film Festival.

The festival, running until June 16, marks June 9 as the premiere date, with subsequent screenings on June 11 and June 15. Oriahi expressed immense pride in this achievement, thanking the film’s team and Tribeca Festival for the recognition of their art.

“The Weekend” is a gripping drama thriller, following the journey of an orphan girl seeking family who uncovers dark secrets within her fiancée’s seemingly perfect household.

Produced by Uche Okocha and executive produced by Babatunwa Aderinokun, the film stars Aniunoh, Bucci Franklin, Meg Otanwa, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey, Gloria Anozie-Young, and Damilola Ogunsi.
