Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal Picks Nico Williams for Dream Signing

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has openly expressed his desire for the club to secure the services of his Spain teammate Nico Williams during the upcoming transfer window.

Despite Williams being a coveted target for Barcelona, his €50m release clause is seen as reasonable, but his hefty weekly wages of around €200,000 have deterred potential suitors like Chelsea and Aston Villa, and could pose financial challenges for Barcelona.

In an interview with Cadena SER, Yamal was prompted to dream big and name his ideal signing for Barcelona, to which he unequivocally advocated for Athletic Club’s Williams.

Yamal praised Williams as a formidable winger known for his speed, audacity, and ability to unsettle opponents, qualities that Yamal believes would greatly benefit any team, including Barcelona.

However, Williams has recently affirmed his commitment to Athletic Club, emphasizing his happiness at the club and his focus on performing well in the ongoing Euros.

“I am very happy at Athletic, it is the club that has given me everything,” Williams stated firmly during an interview with COPE, indicating his reluctance to leave his current club anytime soon.

Despite Yamal’s endorsement, Williams seems intent on remaining loyal to Athletic Club amidst transfer speculations.
