Chelsea Football Club has confirmed that midfielder Hakim Ziyech is leaving to join Galatasaray. The midfielder Leaves Chelsea for Galatasaray Permanently, The announcement was made on Chelsea’s official website on Friday, June 28, 2024.

Galatasaray decided to trigger the option to buy Ziyech permanently after he spent last season with the Turkish giants. Ziyech, 31, signed for Chelsea from Ajax in the summer of 2020 and made 107 appearances, scoring 14 goals. During his time at Stamford Bridge, he won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Galatasaray also confirmed Ziyech’s transfer on website. Their statement read:

“Professional football player Hakim Ziyech’s final transfer was made free of charge as the free purchase option conditions in the temporary transfer contract were met. The football player will be paid a net seasonal wage of 2,850,000 euros for the 2024-2025 season. If the conditional extension option is realized, the player will receive the same salary for the 2025-2026 season.”

Although Ziyech left Chelsea on a free transfer, the club stands to earn money if Galatasaray sells him due to a sell-on clause in the deal.
