Yul Edochie has done nothing wrong in taking a second wife – Yvonne Jegede
On a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, actress Yvonne Jegede defended Yul Edochie’s decision to embrace polygamy and take a second wife, asserting there’s nothing wrong with his choice.
“You see this same Yul Edochie, 99% of people abusing him online come from second, third, fourth, or even fifth wives,” Jegede stated. “Some are from wives the family doesn’t even know about. Let’s all stop being silly on the internet.”
She continued, “He is owning his BS with his chest, but nobody will support him. Even me, I have to stand with the crowd so they don’t curse me. I don’t see anything he’s done wrong. Most of us are from second wives.”
Jegede further questioned the double standards in polygamous relationships, specifically pointing to Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels. “Why are we cursing the guy? They curse him but leave Ned Nwoko alone, saying Regina Daniels is your prayer point and she’s the only one who can advise you about marriage. These are the comments I see.”
Edochie, married to his now-estranged wife May Yul-Edochie for 19 years, later married Judy Austin. In 2023, May filed for divorce, citing adultery, and sued him for ₦100 million in damages.
